As an accomplished Creative Director and marketing problem solver, Drew has earned a reputation as the go-to for fortune 500 brands specializing in active, youth, outdoors and lifestyle branding. He has a knack for refining brand personality through branding strategy, campaigns and product development.
He got his big break as the promo Art Director at Surfing Magazine. Shortly after an infamous industry dip, Drew traded in his last possession of value (1980 Harley Wide Glide) for his first Mac and started working as a designer/Creative Director for several of SF, LA and OC ad agencies. (Vitro San Diego, Innocean, DGWB, Y&R Austin, FCB-San Francisco).
Drew later joined the Santa Cruz O'Neill wetsuits and sportswear family as the Global Creative Director managing the in-house agency, and was their rebranding catalyst. He created strategic brand guidelines, campaigns and marketing tools that lead and inspired change throughout the organization on a global level.
Drew returned to to Orange County to begin the branding-marketing consultancy; Branding By Context (aka BXC). He and his company have since built a solid reputation and client roster including Mountain High, Giro, Callaway, McDavid Sports, Felt Bikes, Camelbak, Patagonia, Quiksilver, Nixon Watches, LKQ Automotive, Beach Bunny Swimwear, 18/8 Barber Shops, Hasbro, Mattel, Mophie, Jaybird Audio, E&J Gallo, and living icon's Kelly Slater, LeBron James and Jennifer Lopez.
Drew has lectured to students across the country including Savannah College of Art and Design and University of Texas, and has been interviewed for NPR’s Marketplace on the subject of logo design. His work has been recognized by national industry publications, design blogs, the Addy’s and SIMA.
